“El Guardian” (The Guardian) is the first painting of the series “Los Guardianes de la selva”(“The Guardians of the Jungle”).
 
In Mesoamerican mythology, the jaguar is a mythical and sacred animal. Its spots represented the night sky and it was a protector, symbol of power and connected to the underworld.
 
This painting came to me in a meditation. I saw a jaguar who very insistently told me I should paint him and that he would be called the Guardian and that the person who the painting was for would find him. Is he your guardian? What is his message to you? What is he protecting in your life?
